Nursing Mobility Program Admission

Overview

If you are a licensed practical nurse (L.P.N.), the Nursing Mobility Program enables you to earn an Associate in Science (A.S.) degree in nursing upon completion of two transition courses and semesters three and four of the nursing pathway.

After satisfactorily completing the requirements for the A.S. degree in nursing, qualified students are eligible to apply for the National Council Licensure Exam–RN. Authorization to take this exam comes from the Minnesota State Board of Nursing as a result of the graduate’s application to the board for licensure. After passing the exam, students are eligible to apply for licensure in all states.

In addition, MCTC has articulation agreements with Metropolitan State University, the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Consortium, and other private institutions, giving you the opportunity to transfer upon completion of the A.S. degree to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree (B.S.N.).

Nursing Program Accreditation:

The Nursing program is approved by the Minnesota Board of Nursing and accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, 61 Broadway 33rd Floor, New York, NY 10014

A limited number of applicants that are qualified but not admitted are placed on a waiting list based on their ranking; if spaces become available in the Nursing Mobility Program, applicants from the waiting list will be notified. Applicants not admitted and placed on the waiting list must complete a new application and meet established admission requirements for the subsequent year.

All applicants will be notified of their application status for the Nursing Mobility Program via U.S. mail by May 1, 2009.
